Jury Summons

So after waiting and calling each night this week after 5 pm to check if my number is up to verify if I make the "cut" to be on jury I finally went in this morning to the Matheson Courthouse at 8 am. Kind of dorky but I wanted to do it! I think I just had in my mind that I hoped to have some kind of cool case that would be famous, on tv or whatever like O.J Simpson... Maybe I watch too much Law and Order and news channels about this kind of stuff.

There were about 15 or so in our group to be chosen from. We all had to individually stand up and introduce ourself and answer questions from the blue piece of paper being handed around. For those that read on my facebook profile "25 random facts" under Notes category, I mentioned I am very outgoing and love to be around people but choke when I have to speak in church for 10 minutes? Well I would like to do a re do in that, I seriously always panic when I have all eyes and attention on me in serious moments around people that I don't know from Adam. As I anxiously awaited my turn to say "Hi my name is..." I was so nervous! I felt like I was the one on trial or something! maybe that's what makes me such a bad liar.. (Ryan can tell in 2 seconds if I'm holding something back.) Finally it was my turn, I know my face is already the color after my first day of summer tanning... apple red. I seriously don't know what is wrong with me! I go through the list trying to sound like I've done this a million time.

Well come to find out after the lawyers introduce themselves and such, they ask us by raise of hands if we know the names of the two witnesses. Well what a small world, I DID know one of them! An old friend from High School was a witness..sad to say I did not have my reunion moment with her, as she she was not in the room yet. So I was excused a long with many others. I was kinda bummed! I had asked for work off all week to do my civil duty and I didn't even get to fully participate! Bright side of things, I have all day to run errands and check off my ''to do'' list and I can force myself to go work out and attend a class or two tonight and tomorrow. As well as spend the day with Ryan tomorrow woo hoo!

  5. I am so excited you have a blog! I had to be a witness in court and it was so boring. The nice thing is I think you will still get paid for showing up.
