that's it??

I have been telling my family and friends that when Ryan leaves (which was yesterday) it would be no big deal at all, I didn't even think twice about him leaving really. I was like ok great! I'll get lots of wedding planning done, focus on work, have some girl time with my girlfriends. I mean after all I will basically be seeing him almost every month for a few days at least. Which starts in 2 weeks for a friends wedding in California we are going to.

It's barely been 24 hours and I feel a bit pathetic. I'm soooo bored with him gone! My best friend is no longer just twenty-five minutes away. Thanks to technology he's a phone call or skype call away for now. I used to want to vomit when I would read blogs/posts about girls missing their fiance/husband when on trips and now
I have become one of them. great.

Thursday Ryan and I rode trax to go to our friends graduation......

Riding trax is like a box full of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get, or who you're gonna meet!

this guy knew how to sing at least! great entertainment riding from down town to Sandy.

-she has got some killer socks right?

4/10/10

4/10/2010 is a day I will definitely remember forever. Ryan and I are tieing the knot! no this is not another April Fool's prank (no wonder Ryan was't too thrilled when I posted up my fake engagement on face book that day!)

Ryan leaves in a week and a half for Colorado for the summer to work hard with a roofing company. So with him leaving he told me he wanted to throw a going away dinner before he leaves....right a ''going away dinner'' He made reservations at Asian Star for us and around 20 of our good friends. I wish I had taken pictures of us all, we were quite the large group. It was so much fun though thanks to everyone who made it!
After eating dinner Ryan stood up making a toast thanking everyone for coming to the dinner, for their friendship, expressing how he'll miss everyone this summer so it was fun to have one last hoorah before he leaves. Than looks at me and says he has some unfinished business before he leaves. He get's down on one knee as I feel a flood of emotions and put my face in my hands crying (seriously??) I finally look at him as he asks me to marry him and said yes to him giving him a hug and kiss.

We are so excited for our big day! So mark your calanders everyone for August 5, 2010

50th post

This mark's my 50th post, So I thought it would be fun to post 50 things you may or may not know about me & Ryan.

1) I don't know how to snap normal-Ryan says I look ''special'' when doing it
2) Diet Coke is my weakness
3) My dream would be to do hair and make up for tv or a movie
4) I have never broken a bone, many sprained ankles and a dislocated knee
5) My favorite thing to shop for are accessories/ purses, shoes, jewelry
6) one of my biggest pet peeves is being late
7) my favorite flowers are lilies and peonies
8) I hate the sound of people popping their knuckles
9) If I had a selfish wish (besides wishing for a million more) I would definitely wish to be able to eat whatever I want and not gain an ounce. How awesome would that be?!
10) I am the WORST liar ever

11) If Ryan could, he would live in a house where the only colors were orange and brown probably
12) His favorite movie is ''Hook'' He totally wishes he could have been a lost boy
13) He isn't a fan of large crowds
14) Ryan drinks sprite like it's water and uses the excuse ''Well there IS water in here'' -nice try
15) His favorite shows to watch are The History channel and Discovery
16)He apparently doesn't know what pants are, he wears shorts and flip flops all year round..even in the 20 degree weather. AND has to drive with the windows down at all times
17) He hates getting his picture taken
18) although he doesn't like to go shopping he's probably the best person to go with because he looks at all angles to make sure it's in the best condition to purchase.
19) He is the kindest person I have ever met, and he will stop whatever he is doing to help out a friend or stranger.
20) He HATES hair, as in when I cut his hair he gets annoyed if any of it gets down his neck or when it's on me he wont hug me till it's all off.

21) We have known each other for almost 9 years!
22) We have dated each other for 5 years
23) We went on the show ''Let's make a deal'' -so much fun!
24) He thinks we are going to have EIGHT kids when we get married...uhhh riiiight...
25) Chili's and The Roof restaurants are 'our' places
30) In high school Ryan tried impressing me telling me things like he could snow board, was going to learn how to skeleton so he could join the olympics one day, a scar on his face was from getting in a fight and had to defend himself against a knife (too funny after we began dating and found these things out)

31) I said the 'L' word first
32) As opposite as Ryan and I are we are a perfect fit balancing each other out in ways we both need, he has patience...I am learning, I am the loud outgoing one, Ryan is more conservative and the home body.

37) Ryan was my first kiss and was on new years eve
38) He is wise beyond his years, I don't feel like we are only 2 months apart
39) I would love to go on a game show like family feud or the price is right
40) I am messy organized. I have clutter but have certain things organized like my clothes being color coordinated and shoes from falt/casual to flat/high heels/dressy
41) I love baking and wish I were creative to try making my own recipes but I have to follow a recipe other wise my food would taste like garbage

42) Ryan is a hot nerd ;)
43) Ryan is the logical thinker, I am the emotional one
44) I first met him at his wrestling match in high school and thought he was the bomb dot com with his high lights, tan skin and killer good looks oh and his awesome singlet
45) I hope to make the time to learn to crochet, knit, and sew one day cause I do not have a crafty bone in my body!
46) Ryan has mad drawing/ air brush skills that I envy and love to admire when he doodles on paper
47) I love painting my nails just so I can peel the polish off days later
48) I would rather have home made bread with home made jam than cake or candy any day

49) Ryan is part man part fish. I swear he had gills when he gets in the water, that boy can swim and stay in the water forever!

50!) We are both total night owls, however I am so not a morning person unlike him acting like Mr. Rogers

Dancing with the Stars

Is anyone else disappointed in some of the celebrities chosen for the show? I'm down with Chad, no so much with Pamela Anderson, she just grosses me out...mixed feelings about Kate Gosslin, although I love the new hair! MUCH better with the extensions.
Also does this mean the show will always pick someone from The Bachelor/Bachelorette show...

Evan Lysacek and Anna looked great out there! yay for amazing gold medalist out there dancing!

Erin Andrews...she has legs for days! I wonder at times what it would be like to be that tall, to change my 5 foot 3 frame to 5 foot 10 just for a day..
Jake Pavelka, what a charming guy. Don't agree with who he chose on ''The Bachelor'' but he looked great and I love his parter Chelsie. They are one of the couples I'm rooting for
Poor Ashley Costa...although she is dancing with an incredible man, you know when you are given a partner who is 80 years old you wont be in the finals. Go Buzz! He did pretty good out there for his age!

Another couple I'm rooting for is Chad Ochocino! he looked great, I love watching the behind the scenes of them learning the dance to see their personalities come out.

I also thought Niecy Nash (although I think she can be a bit annoying when I've watched ''Clean house'' I thought she looked great out there and loved that she was saying that she doesn't want to loose her jiggly parts hahaha

bitter sweet

Ryan is going to move to Denver, Colorado in April for a job! (temporarily) We both feel good about the decision and was confirmed after much prayer. We are both excited for this great job opportunity that he will have thanks to an old mission companion friend who told him about it.

He will be working with a roofing company there, since Colorado has a lot of hail storms and what not they have to replace their roofs which the insurance companies pay for the majority of it. He wont be doing the construction part. He will be the one doing the sales and taking a look seeing if the roof needs to be replaced or not.

I'll see him in May when we travel to California for a friends wedding we are in and I'll be able to visit him. He can come back whenever to visit home as well if needed or wanting to. With the economy and hardships of trying to find a good job we are so grateful for this opportunity and although it will most definitely suck not seeing him all the time but thanks to technology (I love technology but not as much as you, you see." had to throw some Napoleon Dynomite on there. We can ichat on our mac's, e-mail and talk on the phone. So it's not like he's going on a mission again and can only communicate through snail mail.

number 3

It's already March?! holy cow where did January and February go? Time is just flying by. Can't
complain though I am sooooo ready for winter to be over and have some 75 degree weather!
I love March though, lots of family birthdays to celebrate, St. Patrick's day along with going to the parade (at Gateway) Green is my favorite color so I like St. Patty's day that much more, and yes I know it's a drinking holiday but who cares I am like a kid I love Parades and dressing up.
Wouldn't it be awesome if we had something like this that Chicago does every year? I bet they know how to party! ;)

The new job is going pretty good! Saturday was a busy day and did my first mullet at the new salon. Him and his wife were rockin the 80's hairdon't. The back of his hair was perm fried and the top was ''too long'' for him... You have no idea how much I wanted to ''accidently'' cut off his mullet. But he tipped me great and he was really nice.

There are some people that were in the salon that I just wanna take over like Nick Arrojo from What not to Wear. And pull a Carmondy and give some of the ladies a make over or make under. That would pretty much be my dream job, that and do hair and make up for movies.

working woman again!

Woo hoo after almost a year I have found a job and working full time again! boo yah!

So long freedom of doing whatever I wanted whenever I wanted, goodbye boredom; complaining there was nothing to do and no where to go because everyone else is busy in school or working. Goodbye to envy for those working making money, adios spontaneous vacations, goodbye to going to bed later..or should I say early each day.

Hellooooo new work wardrobe to come! hello sore feet till you get used to standing in one place for 8 hours, hello to morning and evening traffic some days, hello to bank account growing and not reclining, hello to black and white clothes ever day, hey there stacks and stacks of diet coke for 35 cents each that I can't have yet...oh but just wait only another month till I can drink a little bit of you. ugh hi to you too hair splinters in feet, fingers and clothes, hellew to all of my new staff that I look forward to working with (yay no drama!) hello to meeting new clients and building more each day I hope!

Today was my first day back at a salon and am so blessed to have found a job where the atmosphere is wonderful, in a great area with lots of walk ins, only 20 minutes from my house. For the first few months being out of work was fun I loved the freedom, I enjoyed kicking back and relaxing and not doing hair 40 hours plus every week. But the last 6 months have been awful looking for a job, I have been praying and fasting to find something. heck I was getting to the point last week if I didn't find something soon I was just going to walk over to the nearest fast food restaurant and apply (no offense to those who work there, just would suck from going to beauty school to waste that and work for a company that has nothing to do with hair.)

I have some clients that still live further away from my new salon that I will stick to going to their homes because they are that awesome to me :D

I'm going to be tv star!

Ok jk not really but the game show "Let's make a deal'' on cbs that I went to in January will be airing next month! woo hoo can't wait to see what an idiot I look like haha. In the beginning we had all of this energy and were excited to be there hoping Wayne would pick us or at least someone in our group! Than towards the end we knew our chances were pretty much squashed, we just sat there and were like ''whatever we are ready to get outa here and get some food!"

It was such a fun experience though and I wish I could do it again...they are leaving Vegas and moving the show to Cali I think if I remember right. It's playing March 8th at 1:00 (mountain time) We are behind the pinata heads.. yeah you read right. People wore actual pinatas on their head! talk about creative though!

and hey if you are a reader of my blog say hi! don't be shy :D
